Frequently Asked Questions

Why are so many products “call to order”?

With padding, especially large rooms or areas, there are a lot of things to consider before making a purchase. We find its best to talk to you before you purchase, to make sure you are getting the best product for your needs. Additionally, while padding is light weight, it takes up a lot of room on freight trucks which can drive the price up. If we talk to you about your order before hand, sometimes we can find ways to ship it more effectively.

What specifications can your padding meet?

If we know what specifcations you need before receiving your order, we can work with you to meet them. These are some common specifications we can meet:

Fire: NFPA 286
Fire: Class A (E84) Tested- Vinyl and/or foam
Impact: ASTM 2440-40
Foam type: Rebound or xx firm

Call us with your specific needs, we’re looking forward to hearing from you!

I need padding for a whole room or gymnasium, what do I do?

In some occasions you can get away with simple rectangular pads, and simply mounting them side by side as needed. Not everyone is so lucky. More often than not, there are windows, doors, fire alarms, or other obstacles that the padding has to fit around. The best thing to do is to give us a call. We will ask for pictures, drawings, and measurements, and from that point we can provide a custom solution that perfectly fits your space.

Can you print my logo on my padding?

Absolutely! We deal with a lot of schools and universities that want to make their padding represent their school. Again, just give us a call! We will ask that you send us your logo file. How good your logo turns out is dependent on the file you send us. Vector files (.ai, .eps) are the best to work with because it ensures we can make your logo as big as necessary, without it losing quality when we stretch it.

I need padding for outdoor use, what should I consider?

Our padding should hold up fine for outdoor use, but if you live in a wet or rainy environment, your padding will absorb water like a sponge. The foam and vinyl should be ok with water exposure, but if you are purchasing a wood-backed style, the wood is a bigger concern. If the wood backing is not able to dry out, it may start to degrade. You may want to consider upgrading the wood backing. We have a marine grade wood available that will hold up to prolonged moisture exposure better than our standard OSB backing. In past projects, if we knew moisture was going to be an issue, we have cut drainage holes in the bottom of the padding so at least the water has a chance to escape. We also recommend taking your padding down in the off-season or in bad weather, although we understand that isn’t always possible.

How do I clean my padding?

You can clean your padding with a mild detergent and water. Don’t use Armor All or any caustic cleaning products – they will damage your pad.

Is this padding good for chair cushions or as a mattress topper?

No. This padding is designed for occasional high impact. Under constant weight, the padding will eventually flatten out.
